Trailer crane AHK 30 KS on DJ Bobo concert tour

With a gigantic set consisting of three stages, DJ Bobo celebrated his 30th stage anniversary on the Evolut30n 2023 tour. The Swiss pop and dance musician is a master of opulent staging and thrilled his fans with an impressive show from early May to mid-June.

The main stage was dominated by an approximately eight-metre-high sculpture that served as a projection surface for various video content. By means of elaborate video technology, different scenes were projected onto the set so that the stage set changed permanently: from a lion's head to a monkey to Medusa. The well thought-out stage construction, the gigantic light show and the impressive video effects made a decisive contribution to the look of the show.

For the speedy set-up of the high main stage, a Böcker trailer crane AHK 30 KS accompanied the anniversary tour. In 17 concert halls and arenas between Hamburg and Munich, the set had to be erected and dismantled again within a very short time. The hybrid crane with electric motor lifted the ten individual elements of the stage sculpture into position one after the other within just under two hours. So a three-dimensional, completely white projection surface for the video mapping was created in a very short time.

With emission-free drive technology in the interior

Thanks to its small dimensions and a low transport height of only 2.60 m, the trailer crane easily reached the various halls through the gates and aisles. During the set-up, the AHK 30 KS stood directly in front of the main platform. From this central position, all platform elements could be placed sensitively and precisely. With its additional 13 kW 400 V electric motor, the hybrid crane operated completely emission-free and low noise inside the halls. To minimise energy consumption, a sustainable Stop-and-Go automatic system limited power consumption. The crane's control system registered movement requirements and activated the electric motor only when necessary.

Foldable swivelling outriggers for flexible assembly

For the stage assembly during the DJ Bobo tour, the trailer crane AHK 30 KS offered a total package of performance, flexible and fast set-up and emission-free operation. As a strong all-rounder, it lifts payloads of up to 1,500 kg, reaches extension lengths of up to 30 m and achieves a reach of 21 m with a load of 250 kg. It adapted optimally to the conditions on site in the various halls and arenas, as its foldable swivelling outriggers can be set up independently at different angles and also swivel over obstacles of up to 50 cm. The auto-levelling feature ensured that the crane was erected quickly as well as safely. The trailer chassis with tandem axle and space-saving swivel drawbar can be moved quickly, precisely and in two different control variants thanks to its powerful manoeuvring drive.

Trailer crane offers great time savings

Another decisive advantage for the speedy stage installation was the precise control and intuitive operation of the AHK 30 KS via the radio-remote control with color display. It even made the best possible and safe use of cramped set-up areas. The sensitive control enabled the low-vibration lifting and exact placement of the platform elements. They were directly inserted while still suspended from the crane hook and thus assembled extremely efficiently and time-saving. The intelligent control system supported the crane operator by automatically releasing the maximum working range and outreach depending on the outrigger positions as well as the suspended load. This ensured safe working at all times.
